topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 0.7 kg ground beef
  • 4 cubes (1 cm each) pepper jack cheese (about 30 g total)
  • 0.5 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 4 slices cheddar (about 60 g)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Ketchup, mustard and/or mayonnaise for spreading (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves, tomato slices and/or red onion rings, for assembly
  • Pickled cucumbers, for serving (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Press a cube of pepper jack cheese into the center of each piece of meat and seal it inside; form into patties approximately 10 cm wide and 2 cm thick. Sprinkle the patties with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook until browned on the bottom, about 4 minutes. Flip the patties and top with a slice of cheddar; cook for another 4-5 minutes. Meanwhile, toast the hamburger buns and spread with ketchup, mustard, and/or mayonnaise. Top with patties, lettuce, tomato, and/or red onion. Serve with pickles.
