Ingredients:
- 1 package (680 g) frozen mozzarella sticks
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp. premium flour
- 0.5 tsp mustard powder
- 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
- 3/4 cup beer
- 0.5 cups low-fat cream (10%)
- A little hot sauce
- 2 cups grated cheddar
- 1 tbsp. poppy seed, sesame and dried onion topping
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
Preparation:
- Prepare mozzarella sticks according to package directions.
- Creamy Beer Sauce:
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour, mustard powder, smoked paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; cook, stirring, until smooth, about 1 minute.
- Whisk in the beer, cream, and hot sauce until smooth; bring to a boil and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar until melted.
- Place the mozzarella sticks on a serving platter. Sprinkle with the seasoning mixture, chives, and drizzle with the sauce.
