Ingredients:
- 90 ml of bourbon
- 60 ml non-alcoholic apple cider
- 30 ml spiced syrup
- 30 ml orange juice
- 30 ml lemon juice
Preparation:
- Combine 0.5 cups each of sugar and water, 4 allspice berries, 1 star anise, and 4 slices of fresh ginger in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Let cool, then strain.
- Combine 90 ml of bourbon, 60 ml of non-alcoholic apple cider, 30 ml each of spiced syrup, orange juice, and lemon juice, and 3 drops of orange bitters in a shaker with ice.
- Strain into 2 glasses filled with ice. Top each with 1/4 cup red wine. Garnish with cinnamon sticks.
Spiced syrup:
In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar, 4 allspice berries, 1 star anise, and 4 slices ginger. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Strain into a liquid measuring cup.
