Pasta in a slow cooker

Ingredients:

  • 450 g penne pasta

Preparation:

  1. Combine 450g of penne pasta, 4 cups of water, and 2 teaspoons of coarse salt in a slow cooker. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, close the lid, and prepare the slow cooker. Set the pressure cooker to high pressure for 5 minutes.
  2. Once the pressure cooker cycle is complete, follow the manufacturer's instructions to quickly release the pressure and wait for the cycle to complete. Being careful not to burn yourself with residual steam, open and remove the lid. There's no need to drain the water, but you can stir 1 tablespoon of butter or olive oil into the pasta to prevent sticking.
  3. Note

    We don't recommend trying this method with other pasta shapes. During recipe testing, rigatoni and farfalle cooked unevenly. For every 110 grams of pasta, use 1 cup of water and 0.5 teaspoon of coarse salt.
