Ingredients:
- Anise liqueur (preferably Pernod or pastis)
- 2 sugar cubes
- 2-3 drops of bitters (preferably Peychaud's)
- 60 ml rye whiskey
- 2 large ice cubes
- For serving: a chilled glass of Old Fashioned
Preparation:
- Pour a small amount of Pernod or Pastis into a chilled whiskey glass. Swirl to coat the glass, then pour. Moisten sugar cubes with bitters and drop them into the glass. Crush the cubes with a spoon or muddler. Add whiskey and 2 ice cubes. Shake and serve.
