Ingredients:
- 2.5 cups white whole wheat flour
- 0.5 cups premium flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp fine salt
- 3 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 and 1/4 cups of milk with 2% fat content
- 3 tbsp honey + extra for serving
- 1 egg white
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter and rub it into the flour with your fingers or a handheld pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
- In a small bowl, combine the milk, honey, and egg white. Add to the dry mixture and stir with a fork until a smooth dough forms.
- Place 12 mounds of dough on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart. Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet.
- Serve the buns warm with honey.
