Bacon twists topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g bacon strips
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked or hot paprika
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil.
- Take each strip of bacon and twist it lengthwise, being careful not to stretch it, just twist it. Place the twisted strip on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining strips, pressing them tightly together on the baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, thyme, dry mustard, paprika, garlic powder, and plenty of black pepper. Stir with a fork until evenly distributed.
- Sprinkle the bacon with the sugar mixture. Bake for about 40 minutes. The twists will be slightly crispy.
- Let the bacon cool on the baking sheet for 30 minutes, shaking it every 10 minutes to prevent it from sticking. It will firm up as it cools.
