Frozen Berry Banana Smoothie topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (see note at end of recipe)
- 2 cups frozen strawberries, raspberries, or cherries
- 1 cup cold milk
- 0.5 cups unsweetened plain or vanilla thick yogurt, for a thinner consistency you can replace it with sweet drinking yogurt, but reduce the amount of honey or omit it
- 0.5 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2-3 tablespoons of honey, or to taste
Preparation:
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
Vegan smoothie Replace cow's milk and yogurt with 1 cup of rice milk. Or use soy yogurt and milk.
Note Using frozen berries and fruits eliminates the need for ice, which dilutes the smoothie's flavor. Peel and slice a banana, then freeze it in a freezer bag. You can prepare frozen bananas ahead of time and use them to make smoothies, shakes, and bake muffins and cupcakes.
To make drinking this thick smoothie convenient, use special thick smoothie straws or a spoon.
