Quick buns topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 3 packets (7 g each) of active dry yeast
- 1 and 3/4 cups warm water
- 0.5 cups honey
- 0.5 cup melted butter + extra for greasing the dough
- 2 tsp salt + extra for sprinkling
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 4-6 cups flour + more as needed
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the yeast and warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes, until the yeast is activated and foamy. Stir in the honey.
- With the mixer on low speed, add 0.5 cups of melted butter, 2 teaspoons of salt, and the eggs. Slowly add the flour one cup at a time and mix until completely incorporated and the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
- Divide the dough into 24 equal portions. Form the buns into the desired shape and place them in a cast iron skillet or on a baking sheet, evenly spaced. Set aside for about 20 minutes to allow the dough to rise until doubled in size. Brush the buns with melted butter.
- Bake for 25 minutes, until the tops of the buns are golden brown. Remove from the oven, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with a little salt.
