Citrus sorbet with limoncello topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1.5 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (7 lemons)
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- Zest of 1 lime
- Juice of 1 orange
- Drop Limoncelloto drizzle over the sorbet
- Mint sprigs, for serving
- Special equipment: ice cream maker
Preparation:
- In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves, about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the mint leaves, and let steep for about 15 minutes, until the syrup cools. Strain the syrup into a medium bowl. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, orange zest, lime zest, orange juice, and 1/2 cup of water. Stir.
- Pour the mixture into the frozen bowl of an ice cream maker and prepare the sorbet according to the manufacturer's instructions. Transfer the sorbet to a deep baking dish, seal tightly, and freeze until set, at least 4 hours or overnight.
- To serve, place the sorbet in a bowl, drizzle with limoncello and garnish with a sprig of mint.
