Kamchatka crab legs with Old Bay seasoning topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1.3 kg of boiled and frozen Kamchatka crab limbs
- 1 package (170 g) of seafood seasoning, such as Old Bay, plus more as needed
- 2 lemons
- 110 g unsalted butter
Preparation:
- Place the crab legs in the bottom of a large saucepan, cover with 4 liters of water and mix with seafood seasoning (See Note). Cut the lemons in half and squeeze the juice into the pan, discarding the peels. Cover and bring to a boil, then simmer over medium heat until the crab is heated through, about 5 minutes. Transfer everything to a large serving bowl or platter.
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until foamy, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Use a spoon to skim off any milk solids from the surface of the butter, then slowly pour the melted butter into a small serving bowl, reserving the watery white whey in the saucepan. Serve with the crabs.
Note
Depending on the size of your pot, you may need to add more water to completely cover the crab legs. In this case, for every additional 2 liters of water, add another 1/4 cup of seafood seasoning and 1 lemon.
