St. Louis Burgers

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 450 g of ground beef with a maximum fat content of 7%
  • 4 frozen fried cheese ravioli
  • 4 tbsp. marinara sauce (comes with ravioli)
  • 1/4 cup semi-skimmed ricotta
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 4 hamburger buns, cut in half on the sides

Preparation:

  1. Prepare ravioli and sauce according to package directions.
  2. Mix the ricotta with the Italian seasoning. Add the ground beef and mix without compacting it. Form the ground beef into four 1 cm thick patties.
  3. Place the patties on the grill over hot coals. Grill, covered, turning, for 8-10 minutes (or 7-9 minutes on a preheated gas grill, covered, over medium heat), until a meat thermometer inserted horizontally into the center of the patty registers 165°F (71°C).

    Note
Cooking times are based on fresh or well-defrosted ground beef. Color is not a reliable indicator of doneness, so use a digital meat thermometer.
  4. Place a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Spread marinara sauce evenly and top with ravioli. Close the burgers.
