Chili and Cheese Fries topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 package (800-900 g) of frozen ribbed French fries
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt + more to taste
- 3 tbsp. l. olive oil
- Half an onion, chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, grated
- 3 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tbsp. l. ground cumin
- 450 g of ground beef with 20% fat content
- 2 tbsp. quality marinara sauce
- 1 can (425 g) cheese sauce for nachos
- 3 green onions, sliced diagonally
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeño rings
Preparation:
- Line a baking sheet with foil. Place the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake according to package directions. Season with salt.
- Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, chili powder, and cumin and cook until fragrant, 1-2 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, salt, and a few grinds of black pepper and cook, breaking up the ground beef, until browned, 8-10 minutes. Add the marinara sauce and toss to coat. Cook for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Heat the nacho cheese sauce until heated through. Top the fries with the nacho and cheese sauces and garnish with green onions and jalapeño slices.
